Sarah Paulson knows you’re talking about her relationship, and honestly, she couldn’t care less.
In response to those who have criticized the actress, 43, for her relationship with her partner, 75-year-old actress Holland Taylor, Paulson gave the following statement to Modern Luxury: “If anyone wants to spend any time thinking I’m strange for loving the most spectacular person on the planet, then that’s their problem.”
She added, “I’m doing just fine.” Thank you very much.
There are 32 years between Paulson and Taylor, but Paulson does her best not to have age define her romantic or career paths.
“If being older means all the roles I’m getting to play now because of all the ups and downs and hills and valleys proceeding it, I say bring it on,” she said in the interview.
“Every once in a while I’ll go, ‘Wow. [43.] That’s seven years shy of 50.’ That’s the big 5-0. But then I go, ‘Stop running seven years down the road. You have no idea what your life will look like and where you’ll be.’ And that’s just what makes life so sweet. You cross your fingers, take a deep breath and jump. And that’s really all you can do.”
If she’s trying to keep herself living in the moment, her resume makes it look like she’s succeeding. Paulson has stayed particularly busy lately.
The actress stars alongside Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway (just to name a few) in the movie Oceans 8, out next month. She’s set to star in American Horror Story‘s latest season, premiering later this year. And she’ll also be in a post-apocalyptic horror flick Bird Box on Netflix in December.
