FUOYE Denies Rape, Robbery Attacks On Students

The management of Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has denied the alleged incidents of robbery and rape attacks on the students of the University in Ikole community.

Speaking on behalf of the institution, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Tajudeen Opoola, said such an incident did not happen on the institution’s campus because the management has provided water tight security for all students and staff of the University.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor said that the claim that some FUOYE students were attacked and raped on the campus was not only a monumental falsehood but also misleading.

He clarified that the incidents happened outside the premises of the University and not on the campus, saying “ FUOYE is a well-secured environment for all students and staff. “

He said, “We have put in place security measures that will prevent such tragic incidents. Everything possible and necessary has been done to ensure that our students are safe on campus. We have a very cordial relationship and fruitful cooperation with all our host communities on matters relating to the security of our students.

“The alleged incidents of rape and robbery attacks did not happen on our campus in lkole and could not have happened on the campus. We have the best quality of security gadgets and personnel on ground to prevent such incidents of robbery and rape on campus.
