FUNAAB re-organise its system, sacks staff
The Governing Committee of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has suspended 18 members of staff of the institution, while five others relieved of their appointments. The university in a letter dated Thursday, November, 10 2016 and signed by its Registrar, M.O. Ayoola, had based its action on re-organisation of the university system.
The committee arrived this decision at the end of a meeting presided over by its Chairman, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe.
However, some members of the university’s SSANU had written a petition to the EFCC calling for the investigation of the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Oyewole, and Ogunlewe for mismanagement of funds.
Those sacked included three Medical Doctors, Ajayi A.O., Olaniran I.O. and O.O. Salami, as well two health workers, a Laboratory Scientist and a Medical Record Officer.
The Head, Directorate of Public Relations of the institution, Emi Alawode, however, promised to send her response on the development, when contacted.
