Firms Partner 7up To Include More Youths In Tech

Tech startup, Conclase has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Seven Up Bottling Company to drive tech inclusion in Africa and help more young Nigerians and Africans build careers in tech.

Graduates of Conclase’s tech school, Conclase Academy,  are to get internships with Seven Up after training.

The startup launched Conclase Academy in 2021  to lower the barrier to entry for those starting a career in tech.

Since 2021, the academy has graduated two batches of tech talents working in startups and multinational companies.

Seven Up’s Nigeria’s Chief Information Officer, Vasco Goncalves, said the signing is a “historical moment” for tech.

“Africa has huge population of young people looking for global opportunities. We’ve been here for a few years and the talent is unbelievable. We expect this new partnership with Conclase Academy to open doors for more young people,” Goncalves added

Conclase Chief Executive Officer, Adeposi Bamiduro, thanked Seven Up for its mission to lower the barrier to tech entry for Africans.

“We couldn’t have wished for a better partner. Before this MOU, Seven Up  has shown it understands the work that needs to be done to provide opportunities in tech for young people in Africa. This MOU is a further confirmation of the partnership,” he said.

Bamiduro hailed Seven Up on the launch of its SAP S/4 HANA project in Nigeria, noting Conclase talents are part of the team helping to build and deploy it.
