The federal government said it has commenced the upgrade of the facilities and laboratories of 50 select public senior secondary schools across the country.
The Executive Secretary of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), Iyela Ajayi, said this when he visited the Commissioner for Education, Nasarawa State, John Mamman.
In a statement on Sunday by the Head of Public Relations and Protocol, NSSEC, Fatima Bappare, the executive secretary told the commissioner that Government College, Nasarawa, was among the selected schools for the upgrade.

The executive secretary said: “Upgrade of the 50 selected senior secondary schools across the nation, which was captured in the 2024 budget, is a clear testimony of this administration’s commitment to the development of Senior Secondary Education in the country.”
Ajayi called for cooperation between the Nasarawa State Ministry of Education and the consultant that would be on site for a smooth take-off during the upgrade.
Permanent Secretary of Nasarawa State Ministry of Education, Mohammed Bala, who represented the commissioner for education, expressed appreciation for selecting the state amongst the pullout states.
The commissioner pledged that the state would give every necessary support needed for the success of the upgrade.
