Davido Suspends Career For Two Months To Campaign For Adeleke

Afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, yesterday suspended his musical career for two months to campaign for the re-election of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

The Grammy-nominated singer, speaking in Ede, Osun State, at the inauguration of Imole Youth Campaign Mobilisation Team, says the move is to boost the political mobilisation efforts of Governor Adeleke.

Addressing the newly-inaugurated committee, which he chaired, he said: “I have put my musical career on hold for two months to come and work for my uncle, not only because he is my uncle, but also because he is doing a good job.

“We are all here to support him to win the election with our influence. This is one of the most important committees because it has to do with youths.”

Davido urged the committee to begin door-to-door campaign across all local governments in Osun State to ensure victory for Governor Adeleke.

The committee members include: Chairman- David Adeleke, Vice Chairman – Adeshina Kayode Olododo, Secretary- Gbenga Idowu, Osogbo Federal Constituency, Mutiu Oladimeji, Ife Federal Constituency, Tomiwa Babalola, Ijesha South Federal Constituency, Mayowa Oloso, Ijesha North, latunji Awodiran.

Also, Ila Federal Constituency, Otunba Tunde Badmus, Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Dapo Okunola Ede/ Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Majeed Salami, Irewole Federal Constituency, Chief Owodunni Abiodun Ramon, Iwo Federal Constituency, Deji Bello.
