Grammy-winning singerย Burna Boyย has officially launched his cannabis brand called โBrkfastโ in the United States of America.
The development was announced by Black Cannabis Magazine via its Instagram page where it stated Burnaโs Brkfst aside smoking comes in tea form, snacks and other consumables.
According to the magazine, on October 7, 2022, Odogwu launched his cannabis brand BrkFst in collaboration with Jokes Up/Ice Kream in South Beach, Miami.
A video of the launching which was shared on the magazineโs page noted, โBurna is bringing his addition to the Cannabis Community by naming his brand BrkFst.
โMost smokers will resonate because they start the day with morning marijuana consumption, Breakfast, your first meal. Hence the slogan is #Brkfstisforsmokers @smokebrkfst.
โCoinciding with Miami Carnival, the all-day celebration started with a Pop Up from 12- 3, Followed by Brunch at Miami Diner from 3:30-7 and had the team representing Burna Boy headlining at the all-white themed Tipsy Musical Festival at Bayfront Park, which closed out at 11 PM.โ
During an interview with Home Grown Radio in Los Angeles, in October 2021, the โTwice as Tallโ singer had spoken about the reason(s) for the refusal of the Nigerian government in legalising marijuana.
He attributed Nigeria governmentโs refusal to hypocrisy because according to him, a good number of the population consumes it.
โItโs not a zero tolerance. Itโs like everybody does it, but no one wants to be the one that is seen with it. Itโs just kind of hypocritical out there. Everybody smokes weed,โ he said.
Burna also argued the misconception surrounding the drug in terms of its โafter affectโ was another reason why it hasnโt been legalised.
โItโs like some dumb shit, bro. You know that old shit when they talk about it frying your brains. They try to make it seem like if you smoke it, you will go mad.
โRight now, everybody is relaxed, everybody does it, and everybody knows that. Itโs just a topic no one wants to talk about.
โNo one wants to talk about it; everybody is cool. Nobody wants to make it a thing,โ Burna Boy stated.
