Singer Brymo braved it all in the fresh visuals of ‘‘Heya” off his recently released OṢÓ (The Wizard) album. The video shows Brymo appear in leather thongs known as ”Bante”as worn by the Yoruba fisherman before urbanization. In the words of the critically acclaimed singer ”I decided to appear how my forbears dressed before the arrival of civilization to Nubian continent,.We have all seen the costume in many movies, “Heya” was my own representation of that age; A bushman in the city, that’s my image of most black Africans of today. Although we reside in cities, we are still villagers in our thoughts and actions.”
The video ever since its official release has got everyone talking with many irked by too much skin exposed in this civilized time while many saw it as something distinctively different from what we are used to just like Kanye West came out naked in the video of his monster hit ‘‘Famous”.
