
Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) has inducted 46 graduates of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State.
Registrar, Ibrahim Ahmed, during the induction and oath taking yesterday, said the inductees toiled with determination and resilience to win.
He said the inductees have completed first phase of their training and are set to be inducted into the profession.
The registrar said oath taking was one criterion stipulated by Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2022 to be met before registration as a pharmacist.
He urged them to maintain high ethical conduct and leadership set forth by PCN.
He said: “After being registered as a pharmacist, you can compete with your colleagues in all areas.
“I urge you to maintain high ethical conduct and leadership standards set forth by PCN and serve as examples for excellence in providing quality services for sustainable healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
“The council frowns at professional misconduct. So, any misconduct is investigated by PCN Investigating Panel and if the pharmacists have a case to answer, he or she is referred to Disciplinary Tribunal. The tribunal could pass sentences as removal of the pharmacist’s name from register for a given period of time.”
Dean Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bingham University, Associate Prof John Alfa charged the graduates to be good ambassadors of the university.
He also commended the Vice – Chancellor of the university, Prof Williams Qurix for his contribution to the growth of the department and university in general.
