The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given approval to Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State to run 15 additional full-time mode programmes; 10 in the undergraduate and five in the postgraduate cadres respectively.
According to a letter addressed to the vice chancellor by the commission’s Director of Academic Planning, Dr Biodun Saliu, the approval followed a resource verification visit by a panel of experts from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to the institution.
The letter stated the following additional 10 undergraduate programmes and five postgraduate programmes to be run in the main campus of the institution with effect from 2023/2024 academic session.
The 10 undergraduate programmes include B.Sc Office and Information Management, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information System, Software Engineering, Food Science and Nutrition and Finance, as well as B.Eng. Chemical Engineering and Computer Engineering.
The other five postgraduate programmes are Ph. D. Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Law.
The letter, which noted that the approval does not cover the part-time mode of the delivery of the programmes, added that “the programmes shall bear only the approved titles and nomenclature and any change will require the approval of the commission.”
The commission therefore charged the institution to provide adequate and material resources for the development and advancement of the approved programmes.
