Acquire Knowledge to Participate in Nation Building – Onofiok Luke to Youths

The Member representing Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency, Mr Onofiok Luke has admonished youths to increase their capacity if they must contribute effectively to nation-building.

Luke gave the charge at Arthur Jarvis University Guest Talk Series when he presented a paper on the theme: Youth Participation in Nation Building at the University Multi-Purpose Hall in Akpabuyo, Cross River State, yesterday.

Speaking to the students Luke said, “acquired knowledge to participate in nation-building, knowledge beyond your field of studies”.

“In whatsoever position you are acting people are watching. If we must build our country, we would need people to volunteer ” Luke added.

He called on the Federal Government the encourage youths in the positive things they are doing. According to him the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Security and Exchange (NSE) and other regulatory bodies are over-regulating what young people are doing and it is not good for the economy.

Luke recommended leadership books such as Rebel Talent, Braving the Wilderness, The Education of an Idealist, What on Earth Am I here for, Ten Rules to Fuel Your Life, Positive Energy, Maxwell Leadership Bible and other books to the students to read to develop their capacity.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Arthur Jarvis University, Dr Joe Edet commended Mr Luke for the knowledge he has impacted on students. The Chancellor of the institution Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong said it was an honour to have the Lawmaker as the guest lecturer.
