The Management of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State has reduced the N25,000 reparation fee to N15,000.
According to reports gathered by ClassicNaija.com the reduction was due to the strong agitation from the students union in the meeting held on Monday between the union and the management.
While confirming the reduction of the fee, the students union PRO, Larry Cole, noted that though the union leader agitated for a lesser amount, but the management insisted that N15,000 is the least option for all the students.
He said: “Immediately the Union leader was notified about the reparation fee, he did not relax. He traveled, called and use all the method he could use to bring peace to the school.”
”I am a student like them and I have more than three siblings in that school. The union can not make a decision that will affect the students negatively because the union will always represent their interest. I will still say, we have a working SUG President in AAUA.” the PRO added
The union, therefore urged for students to wait for more update from the school management.
It will be recalled that N25,000 was imposed by the management on all students for the destruction of properties and facilities during last month’s protest over the death of a student.
