Youth Corper renovates dilapidated Health Centre
A Primary Health Centre that has been abandoned for over two years has been renovated by a youth corps member, named Olayemi Ajibola serving in Oyun, Moro LGA, Kwara State.
He made this feat known when he posted on his Twitter handle; @Chexfactor how he renovated the dilapidated only Primary Health Centre” in the Local Government Area.
According to him “I was posted to Kwara State, somewhere called Oyun in Moro LG. I got there and saw that the shape of the only Primary Health Centre there was bad and dilapidated. Shocking thing is nurses where still working in the building. Head nurse told me due women even gave birth there. You could even see the sky from the lobby of the PHC”.
He however got moved by the state of the PHC, “Anyway I set out to renovate the place. Got the necessary approvals and work started, we began with replacing the bad roofing sheets, the asbestos and changed the nets”. He said.
He added that he chose a certain color because it represents NYSC and that he didn’t want some “persons”; who had abandoned the place for 2 years to claim they did the work.
“Even if my name fades from this building, the people living in Abati, Tepatan Oke, Isale, Iya-aro and Imode won’t forget how “NYSC helped them”. He concluded.
