Moses extends contract at Chelsea
Nigeria winger Victor Moses has extended his contract with English Premiership side Chelsea after a brilliant campaign under Italian coach Antonio Conte.
The 26-year-old who has been converted from his role as a winger to a wing back by Conte has been a mainstay in the Chelsea side who lead the EPL by 11 points and Moses has been influential in their run
prompting the club to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
The new deal sees him sign a two-year extension to his current deal which will keep him at the club until 2021.
He has started every Premier League game since October 1 and has become one of Conte’s reliable men as Chelsea sit on top of the league.
An excited Moses told Chelsea’s official website that he is delighted to sign a new deal as he is enjoying his football at the club.
“I feel very excited. I’m delighted to be here for another few years now and to sign a new deal,” he told chelseafc.com.
“Now it’s time to concentrate on the team and keep working hard to make sure we win games and try to win the Premier League this season. We’re having a great season, I’m enjoying my football and we have a good manager here that has given every single one of us confidence. I just want to keep on enjoying it and working hard for the team.”
Moses arrived Chelsea in 2012 from Wigan Athletic but has been farmed out on loan to various clubs that include West Ham and Liverpool but has found favour with Conte.
The former Crystal Palace player has played 72 times for Chelsea scoring 14 goals in the process.
