The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Osun State Coordinator, Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, has commended corps members deployed as ad hoc personnel for their professionalism, discipline and commitment to duty during Saturday’s 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Kubiangha gave the commendation in a statement on Monday after monitoring the activities of corps members at selected polling units across Ede South, Ede North, Olorunda, Osogbo and Egbedore Local Government Areas.
He said the monitoring exercise aimed to assess the safety and welfare of corps members and observe the general conduct of the election.
The state coordinator expressed satisfaction with their performance, saying they largely adhered to instructions, operational guidelines and safety advisories issued during his sensitisation tour of the local government areas.
He added that the corps members complied with directives from the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters and the Southwest Area Office 1.
According to him, the corps members were safe and discharged their responsibilities without fear, intimidation or undue interference.
He also visited polling units in Awo and Iragberi in Egbedore Local Government Area as part of the monitoring exercise.
Kubiangha commended the officers manning the situation room, zonal inspectors and local government inspectors for their effective coordination and monitoring of the corps members throughout the election.
He also appreciated security agencies for protecting corps members deployed for election duties across the state.
The NYSC coordinator praised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their prompt response to issues reported from the field, noting that the interventions helped sustain the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
He acknowledged the cooperation among stakeholders, particularly under the Inter-Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), describing it as a significant factor in ensuring a peaceful and orderly election.
Kubiangha reiterated the NYSC’s commitment to the safety and welfare of corps members and urged them to continue upholding the ideals of the scheme, professionalism, and national service in discharging their responsibilities.
