The Lagos State Government has released the merit admission list for candidates who participated in the 2026 screening test for entry into Lagos State Model Colleges and Upgraded Secondary Schools.
The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education announced that successful candidates could begin checking their admission status through the Lagos State Examinations Board portal.
In a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite and sighted by PUNCH Online on Friday, candidates who secured admission were advised to proceed to their respective schools from Monday, August 31, 2026, to collect their admission letters and complete the registration process.
“The Ministry hereby informs the general public, and especially candidates who sat for the Screening Test into Lagos State Model Colleges and Upgraded Secondary Schools in May 2026, that the admission status for the Merit List has been released,” the statement read.
The ministry said the release of the merit list followed the completion of the screening exercise conducted for prospective students seeking admission into the state-owned Model Colleges and upgraded secondary schools.
It urged successful candidates to promptly confirm their admission status and follow the required procedures to secure their places in their assigned schools.
“Successful candidates are advised to visit the Lagos State Examinations Board portal from Tuesday, 22nd July 2026, to check their admission status,” the statement added.
The ministry further directed admitted candidates to report to their respective schools from the end of August to obtain their admission letters and complete all necessary documentation.
“Successful candidates should then proceed to their respective schools from Monday, 31st August 2026, to collect their admission letters and complete the registration process,” Dokunmu-Adegbite stated.
The government congratulated all candidates who made the merit list, while encouraging them to approach their academic journey with commitment and dedication.
“The Ministry congratulates all successful candidates and wishes them a rewarding and successful academic journey,” the statement added.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to maintaining fairness in the admission system, assuring residents that qualified candidates would continue to have opportunities to access quality learning environments across the state.
“The Lagos State Government remains committed to providing access to quality education and ensuring a transparent, merit-based admission process into its Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools,” the ministry stated.
