National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has unveiled the official website for the Constituency Scholarship & Talent Development Scheme (CSTDS) as part of efforts to widen access to scholarships, mentorship and educational opportunities for students across Nigeria.
Speaking during the launch, the Director of International Projects and Partnerships (UK, US & Europe), Comrade Abraham Temitayo Adewoye, described the platform as a one-stop information centre where students can access details on scholarship opportunities, eligibility criteria, application procedures, mentorship programmes and official updates.
Adewoye said the initiative is designed to create a sustainable framework for scholarship and talent development by fostering collaboration with the National Assembly, state governments, corporate organisations, development agencies and philanthropic individuals.
He urged Nigerian students to make regular use of the website to stay updated on available opportunities and prepare for future scholarship programmes.
According to him, the portal is intended to provide reliable information on scholarship pathways, leadership development, mentorship initiatives and international academic partnerships that will benefit students nationwide.
Adewoye revealed that the long-term goal of the scheme is to provide educational opportunities for up to 2 million Nigerian students across the country’s constituencies through strategic partnerships and sustainable funding.
He appealed to senators, members of the House of Representatives, governors, policymakers, corporate organisations and international development partners to invest in the programme, stressing that education remains the foundation for national growth.
He noted that the CSTDS initiative seeks to complement existing educational interventions by promoting transparency, accountability and equal access to local and international academic opportunities, digital skills development, innovation, entrepreneurship, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and leadership training.
According to him, empowering young Nigerians through quality education and skills acquisition is essential to reducing unemployment, strengthening communities, and preparing the nation’s workforce for global competitiveness.
He therefore called on stakeholders in both the public and private sectors to partner with NANS to expand access to scholarships and create more opportunities for Nigerian students.
The Constituency Scholarship & Talent Development Scheme (CSTDS) is a NANS-backed initiative coordinated by the Directorate of International Projects and Partnerships (UK, US & Europe), with a focus on promoting scholarships, mentorship, leadership development, skills acquisition and international academic opportunities through strategic partnerships.
