Surita Sandosham, President and Chief Executive Officer of Heifer International, says the organization is actively seeking ideas from Nigerian youth to strengthen the nation’s agriculture and agribusiness sectors.
Sandosham spoke in Abuja on Monday during a student engagement session organized by the organisation in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Abuja.
Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the event, Sandosham explained the purpose of the visit: “The whole reason for coming here and meeting the students in this university, which focuses on agriculture, is to hear from them how we at Heifer International can support their innovations.”
She highlighted the organization’s youth-focused initiative, the AyuTe Africa Challenge, which promotes the integration of technology and innovation within the agricultural space. According to Sandosham, the insights shared by Nigerian students will play a pivotal role in shaping how the organization supports young “agripreneurs” across the country.
