Team ByteBros from Lagos State University is the overall winner of the Fourth Cavista Technologies Hackathon.
The team outperformed 46 teams of 200 participating students, securing the N2 million grand prize.
This year’s edition recorded a notable increase in participation, drawing students from five tertiary institutions in Lagos State.
General Manager, Oyebola Morakinyo, encouraged participants to push boundaries and embrace bold thinking.
She said innovation thrived when individuals challenged assumptions, broke limits and built solutions others only imagined.
According to her, “in a world where technology evolves almost at the speed of light, hackathons remind us why pushing boundaries matters. We are not here just to host a competition, but also to create a space for the visionaries who will define tomorrow.”
Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, hailed Cavista for fostering innovation by creating an environment where brilliant young minds could collaborate and develop solutions to real-world problems.
She noted that platforms as hackathons empowered young Nigerians to transform their talents into solutions that fuelled economic growth and enhanced the nation’s creative ecosystem.
Other institutions include Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Yaba College of Technology, Pan-Atlantic University and University of Lagos.
