Students of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Lagos State University, have recorded outstanding successes at the 2025 Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) National Aviation Conference (FNAC), held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The students distinguished themselves in various competitive categories at the conference, which attracted participation from aviation and engineering institutions across the country. Their impressive performances earned them several awards and cash prizes, further reinforcing LASU’s growing profile in aviation and aerospace education.
Oluwagbenga Shola emerged First in the Pilot Aptitude Simulation Challenge, winning a cash prize of ₦500,000. Similarly, McPaul Ifesinachi A. and Hafsah Abudu clinched First Position in the Aircraft Maintenance Skills Contest, and received a cash prize of ₦500,000.

In the Innovation Pitch Competition, Chinedu Ikeh and Kehinde Fodunrin, competing as Team Green Jet, secured Third Position and were awarded ₦200,000. Additionally, Team Liftora placed Third in the Drone Soccer Competition, earning a cash prize of ₦200,000. Members on the team were; Aniyikaye David, Adewale Oluwaferanmi, Thomas Victor, Adebara Abdulsomod, Ugwu Emmanuel, Isah Muhammad Idris, Adegbola Johnbeulah, Oluwafemi Emmanuel, John Goodness Enejo, Oloko Abdul-Kabir, Amaihian Ebenezer, Onwubolu-Ezekiel Joel, and Abegunde Emmanuel.
The achievements highlight the quality of training and innovation within the Department of Aerospace Engineering, as well as LASU’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates capable of competing on national and international platforms.
