LASUMA Awards N7m Scholarships To 60 LASU Students

THE Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA) has awarded a sum of N7 million in scholarships to 60 undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Lagos State University (LASU) under its annual scholarship programme.

The 2025 LASUMA Scholarship Award, which was initially announced at the LASUMA 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Awards Ceremony held in Surulere, was graced by the deputy governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obefemi Hamzat, as the keynote speaker, alongside the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

The scholarship was subsequently extended to cover a wider range of postgraduate students, including international students.

Speaking at the event, LASUMA President, Dr. AbdulAzeez Anjorin, expressed gratitude to Allah, describing the scholarship initiative as a dream come true, having personally benefitted from both local and international scholarships during his academic journey.

He appreciated the support of prominent LASUMA members who largely sponsored the 2025 scholarship programme.

The beneficiaries, selected from over 500 applicants, cut across various disciplines, including Arts, Education, Law, Medicine, Science and Social Sciences, at different academic levels, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees.
