Suspected armed robbers have raided students at the Awolowo Hall at the University of Ibadan (UI).
The students were disposed of their valuables during the raid in the early hours of Saturday.
The items carted away include; assorted mobile telephone handsets, jewelries, clothing and other valuables.
The Nation gathered that the affected students were tortured during the raids that lasted for a few hours.
A source stated that the security men were alerted by the screaming of the affected students as they hurriedly swung into action.
Some of the suspects who were arrested have been handed over to the Police at Sango Police Station while a manhunt have been launched to apprehend fleeing suspects..
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Institution, Mrs. Joke Akinpelu said the reports from the Hall wardens stated that the robbers carted away the Mobile telephone handsets of the students.
Efforts to get across to the Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, a Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP) for confirmation proved abortive.
