LASU Rewards Students with N4m By Uche Okonkwo
The Lagos State University (LASU) has rewarded 160 students with N25,000 each, a total of N4million as the cheques were presented by the school’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun on the last week at the Ojo Campus.
The students were offered the cheques as a result of their ability to score 4.5 and above cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in the 2015/2016 academic session.
Prof. Olanrewaju who presented the monies congratulated and urged the students not to relent and work harder, “we are proud of you, but you must work harder to sustain the grade”.
The Dean of Students Affairs of the institution, Dr. Olufemi Obayori also encouraged the students by stating that it is never too late to join the ranks of the chosen. Among the students who received the token is Omoworare Oluwatobi, a 200level medical student who made 4.95 CGPA. Oluwatobi who attributed her success to God’s mercy and hard work said she will continue to pray and work harder to ensure she graduates with a first class.
Out of the 160 students, 35 were from College of Medicine, 35 from the Faculty of Management Sciences, 32 students were from Faculty of Social Sciences, 34 students from Faculty of Sciences, 13 from the Faculty of Education, 9 from the Faculty of Engineering and 2 others from the Faculty of Arts.
