Infinix Commissions ICT Centre In University Of Ibadan To Empower Students, Others

As part of its commitment to educational development in the country, Infinix Nigeria has commissioned an ultra-modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre in the University of Ibadan, Oyo state.

The commissioning of the newly renovated ICT centre which took place on Thursday at the university’s campus is aimed at empowering students, upgrading their skills and nurturing them for global opportunities.

Speaking during the event, Doris Zhao, Marketing Manager, Infinix Nigeria said the commissioning of the ICT centre is just the beginning of many things Infinix has in store for Nigeria and Nigerians.

According to him, “It is a great pleasure to be here to celebrate the commission of the newly renovated ICT centre. It is a significant milestone in our partnership. This is just the beginning of a journey filled with endless possibilities. Together, we will continue to push boundaries, break new grounds, and create a brighter future for all.

“Two years ago, we signed an MoU with the University to establish the Infinix Social Club, with the aim of promoting student participation in technology, innovation and entrepreneurial development. Since then, our collaboration has grown, and today’s event marks another step forward.”

Zhao noted that Infinix’s contribution to Nigeria’s socio-economic wellbeing goes beyond technology, as it is also dedicated to empowering students by enhancing their skills and preparing them for global opportunities.

The ICT centre, according to Zhao, represents Infinix’s shared vision of providing the tools and resources needed to foster innovation and success.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, commended Infinix and its management team for choosing the University as one of the beneficiaries of empowerment initiatives, noting that the gesture would go a long way to further stimulate learning and innovation among students and even the staff of the University.

“The step by Infinix is a laudable one I wish other organisations should emulate. Education is the bedrock of any nation that wants to grow sustainably. In this age of fast-paced technology, no individual, organization or country should lag behind. This centre is one of the resources that can help our students to advance. We appreciate your kind gesture,” Adebowale said.
