Nigerian international Ahmed Musa and Roman Eremenko were on target as CSKA Moscow remain as leaders of the Russian Premier League with a 2-0 victory over 10-man Krasnodar on Monday.
Musa, 23, fired Leonid Slutsky’s side ahead within 17 minutes at the CSKA Moscow Stadium, and it got better in the second half when the in-form Eremenko doubled the lead to effectively end the game as a contest.
Then things got worse for the visitors as Ricardo Larbode was dismissed in the closing stages for a second yellow card in the game, ensuring that Slutsky’e men saw out the game without frills.
Musa, who now has 13 goals in the league, was however replaced with Sergey Tkachev in the 90th minute of the encounter, as CSKA Moscow continue to sit top of the Russian topflight with 62 points from 29 games before travelling to the Kazan Arena to take on Rubin Kazan
Along with Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel, Musa has been exempted from Nigeria’s squad for the coming friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg so he could honour the Joseph Yobo Testimonial coming up May 27.
