Premier League giants Chelsea have agreed a £28million deal with Roma for Belgium international midfielder Radja Nainggolan.
New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte had made the 27-year-old power-playing midfielder his primary target in the massive summer rebuilding at the club and the British Press reports that the Italian has got his man after lengthy negotiations with Roma officials over the past two days.
The Blues, who recorded a thumping victory at the weekend with the returning Eden Hazard, are also celebrating the acquisition of Nianggolan who will be a cornerstone in Conte’s bid to revive the ailing champions after what has been a terrible defence of their Premier League title.
The Italy boss and former Juventus coach Conte is a self-professed admirer of the Belgian and reckons his style of play will fit easily in the rough and tumble of English football.
Nainggolan, who was just as keen on the switch, has agreed a five-year deal with Roma’s blessing.
