Various accreditation teams of the National Universities Commission (NUC) have arrived the University of Lagos to assess programmes such as Technology Education, Home Economics, Early Childhood, and Geography Education.
The teams include thoroughbred academics drawn from institutions across the country and NUC representatives who would serve as secretaries.
They were received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Management Services), Professor Lucian Chukwu; Acting Registrar, Mrs. Olakunle Makinde; Bursar, Mrs. Oluwafunlola Adekunle; Director of Academic Planning Unit, Prof. Mathew Olusoji Ilori, and Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. Bayo Oladipo amongst others, in the hallowed chamber of the University’s Senate House on Thursday, November 2, 2023.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor welcomed and appreciated the accreditation teams for their selfless service to the nation, adding that “having journeyed all the way from their respective institutions to Lagos is quite commendable”.
While stating that the institution views accreditation as a quality assurance process, Professor Chukwu restated the determination of the University leadership to consolidate on the gains made in terms of improved global rankings and international recognition.
Chairman of the Early Childhood NUC Accreditation team, Prof. Jurman Isuwa of University of Jos who spoke on behalf of the teams of assessors thanked the University for being a good host and assured of a viable exercise.
