The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has met with the Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, the management of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission and other top government officials over poor power supply being experienced in the country in recent days.
The speaker expressed worry over the power situation against the background of the 14-day lockdown imposed by the Federal Government on some states.
He said that Nigerians were “also in the hospital now without electricity.”
Gbajabiamila also met with the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed; the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele; and the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Mele Kyari, through an online connection.
The Speaker, according to a release by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, said he was worried over the barrage of calls and messages from many Nigerians through his social media account, reacting to poor power supply.
