Although she is still a student at Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State, Damilola Adeshina is making steady progress in the modeling world. The final-year Accounting student believes that she has what it takes to become a successful model that is why she decided to delve into the business.
She says, “It has always been my passion to be a model and I see it as a platform to be a role model, as well as be influential in my community. I am interested in this career because I believe I have what it takes to be a top model and it is my desire to be the next Miss World.
“Modeling has always been my dream and I love challenges. I hope to become a brand ambassador for various organisations and companies. I hope to participate in major shows, such as the Mercedes Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.”
But Adeshina is not taking anything for granted as she is making more efforts to achieve this goal. For instance, she has attended catwalk classes, poise and etiquette grooming and photographic grooming at Steve Ray Modelling and Fashion School. Yet, she believes she is the model to beat.
She says, “I know I am the most beautiful girl in the world. I’ve got a figure and shape with a good height and I am an intelligent lady. I have a strong personality with a good sense of humor. My strength as a model is my ability to interact with the camera and interpret my jobs.
“My body is my greatest asset. As you can see, hips don’t lie. But the fact is that I want to be a voice that will resonate in the minds of people. I want to create a new face in the industry by helping youths that want to be models and being diligent and hardworking in my daily activities.”
Adeshina notes that she enjoys the support of her parents who she describes as her number one fans.
“I also have a good manager, designer and instructor, make-up artist, hair stylist, gym instructor and others. There have been challenges, but the fact that we work as a team makes the difference. I remember, for instance, how I had to be painted in block and white stripes and the ink rolled into my eyes. It was very painful but I just had to endure and get use to the system,” she adds.
