Over the years, countries within the African continent have continued to utilize every relevant platform to boost inter country relationships. The reason for an effective trans national engagement can never be over emphasized. Ghana and Nigeria are two countries within the West African sub region that share tremendous cultural similarities. From sports to food , football, music etc, there is so much to learn from these two beautifully endowed Nations.
For the past 7 years, Ghana Nigeria Achievers Award Foundation as led by its Global Convener, Comrade Barry Ndu N have never relented in playing its part in strengthening the relationship between Ghana and Nigeria through creating a platform that discusses issues that affect the continent while honouring deserving companies and individuals who are making impact in society.
Several men and women of immense capacity have been honoured for distinguishing themselves creditably well. This includes H.E Sir Celestine Omehia, former Governor of Rivers state. He was the chairman of the 5th Edition in 2019. Others are Mr. Tony Elumelu, Founder Tony Elumelu Foundation, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu (CEO,Cubana Group), Madam Talatu Ogunlana, CEO Rare Gems Jewelry, H.E John Mahama, Former President of Ghana, Hon. Dr. Freda Prempeh, Minister of state -Works, Ghana, Dr. Stella Adadevo (posthumous Award for her effort in stopping Ebola), Kofi Kinata-Musician, Asamoah Gyan-Footballer, Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Chief Imam of Ghana, HRM Eze Dr. Chukwudi Ihenetu, Eze Ndigbo Ghana,Engr. Chukwudi Dimkpa, CEO Strata Base Group, Engr. Abiodun Oyebola ,NIDO President -Sierra Leone and hundreds of others may not allow us to mention.
As Organizers countdown to the 7th Edition at the prestigious Water Cress Hotel, Ikeja-Lagos on Saturday 29th October, 2022 from 3pm (Red carpet), they have assured of a world class event as it is in a strategic collaboration with the Ghana Embassy in Nigeria. Among the dignitaries to be honoured this year are Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal , Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Hon. Frank Annoh Dompreh, Majority Chief Whip,Ghana parliament,Chief Dr. Okwudiri Nwandu, CEO Okwu Ventures West Africa Ltd, HRH Olaide Jose Mayowa, Head of Yoruba Community, Dome- Kwabenya/ CEO, Aje Moneta Company Ltd, Chief Hon. Uche Agwu Udo ( Kosi Aba), former Chairman Abia State Ghana Hon. Nze Martin Annie Umeakunne CEO Jomalex Ghana LTD, Kumasi and about 20 other distinguished personalities who would be honored in different categories.
