Two Polytechnic students arrested for using Army Camouflage for armed robbery

Two polytechnic students identified as Awire Adekunle and Oladende Tobiloba‎ are currently in prison after allegedly using army camouflage to rob.

The suspects Adekunle, 24 and Tobiloba, 19 who were arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court were both students of Crown Polytechnic, Odo, via Ado-Ekiti. They are facing charges of armed robbery and possession of dangerous weapons.

The prosecutor, Inspector Bayo Ajiboye, told the court that the accused committed the offences on March 13 in Igede-Ekiti. He alleged that the duo wore Army camouflage to extort money from motorists on Awo-Igede road.

Ajiboye said some motorists plying the road alerted the police which led to the arrest of the accused persons. The police also recovered a jack knife and other dangerous weapons from them. This offences contravened Section 2 (1) (a) and (b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special provisions) Act, 2004
