Style News: Jack O’Connell to play Alexander McQueen

The actor has been cast in an upcoming biopic

Jack O’Connell has been cast as Alexander McQueen in an upcoming biopic. The film will be based on a biography written by Andrew Wilson, entitled Blood Beneath The Skin.

Pathé has confirmed that Andrew Haigh has been brought in as director and divulged that the film will tell the story of the lead up to the designer’s Plato Atlantis collection.

“The film explored McQueen’s creative process in the months leading up to the show providing an intimate portrait of the man behind the global brand – a moving celebration of a visionary genius whose designs transcended fashion to become art,” Pathé said in a statement.

Filming is due to start next spring.

Lee Alexander McQueen, was a British fashion designer and couturier. He is known for having worked as chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001 and found his own Alexander McQueen label.
