It’s true that close friends share a similar mindset, and perhaps no one proves that fact to be accurate more than Meghan Markle and Priyanka Chopra. Take, for example, the latest piece of evidence that their relationship is thriving, with the actress’s newly-released engagement portrait with fiancé Nick Jonas.
While attending Ralph Lauren’s 50th anniversary party during NYFW, Priyanka and Nick allotted some time to pose for a romantic photo shoot with royal wedding photographer Alexi Lubomirski. He was also the man behind Harry and Meghan’s iconic engagement photos, which makes sense, because the couple’s snapshot looks eerily similar to the royals’ OG picture.
Mimicking the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s poses, Priyanka, dressed in a long crystal-embellished gown by Ralph Lauren, leans into Nick’s arms while placing her hand over his, which allowed her huge diamond sparkler to take center stage.
Meanwhile, if we look back at Meghan and Harry’s portrait, it’s nearly identical. Same hand-holding, same ring position, and same close embrace.
Chopra and Jonas’s first joint appearance together was at the Met Gala in 2017, where they were both dressed by designer Ralph Lauren, who inadvertently played a role in their whirlwind romance. A year later, the pair began hanging out and just confirmed their engagement in August with a huge party in Priyanka’s native India.
A wedding date has not been set yet, at least not to our knowledge, but fingers crossed Lubomirski will also document their big day!
