MARQAI MIX, THE MIX MONSTER BEHIND YOUR FAVOURITE ARTISTS HIT SONGS

Sound Engineering is one of the most crucial yet underrated parts of music production. Artists go into the studio booth, voice the notes and tones together with the help of the music producer and they both enjoy the glory and recognition that comes with the success of that fateful recording. This story’s aim is to illuminate and celebrate the contributions and role Mixing Engineers play in perfecting our favorite music, and making them sound good to the ears.

We have identified one of these super-talented yet unknown geniuses behind some great songs that are ruling the Nigerian airwaves. You might have noticed the signature tune ‘Marqai Mix’’ on chart-topping songs like Falz’s ‘Karashika’, Terry Apala’s ‘Champagne Shower’, 2face’s ‘Coded Things’ and the list goes on and on.

Just like the veterans before him, the likes of Sheyman, Foster Zeeno, Indomix, Wole Oni to mention a few, that mystery man is Michael Udenna  better known as Marqai Mix, a Sound Engineer with several professional mixing & mastering hit songs under his belt.

Marqai brings the same level of professionalism & quality to every job he undertakes. His constantly evolving & improving sound-engineering techniques make him the right choice for those who demand high quality & professionally executed jobs.

Marqai Mix keeps a low profile, but stumbling on his website www.marqai.com.ng has really helped into digging into his catalogue. He made his entry into the Nigerian entertainment industry in 2007, editing radio jingles, to radio shows, game shows, radio dramas etc. He worked with Top Radio 90.9FM and Rainbow 94.1FM respectively, where he heads the production team charged with handling all radio jingles & station identities.

The recognition is getting wider by the day, evidently, there is a mad rush for his professional touch in  recent times as most releases in the past few months  such as Iceberg Slim’s ‘Oluwa’, Jaywon’s ‘Ayinde Wasiu’ featuring King of the streets Olamide bears his trademark tune ‘It’s Marqai on the mix’.

Marqai Mix is a rare talent who knows his onions and how to make that record sound perfectly nice out of the speakers.
