Fed Poly Bida Sets to Hold First Convocation Ceremony in 9 Years

The Federal Polytechnic Bida in Niger State will hold the joint convocation ceremony for over 28,000 students who graduated from the institution between 2008-2015 on Saturday, April 2, 2016.

According to a statement signed by the institution’s public relation officer (PRO), Alhaji Hussaini Enagi, the polytechnic would be graduating 8 sets of students who graduated within the period.

The statement said “The polytechnic had not held it convocation for 8 sets of students who graduated from the school since 2008 to date. It is on this note that the new rector, Dr. Abubakar Dzukogi deemed it fit to combine graduates of the institution from 2008 to date for the convocation.”

Enagi stated that a series of activities have been slated to mark the occasion which include a pre-convocation lecture on “Managing Tertiary Institutions in a Depressed Economy” to be delivered by Prof. Ibrahim Kolo, former Vice Chancellor, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, on Friday, April 1.

There will also be an alumni dinner to usher in the convocation, which will be chaired by the Niger State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Muhammed Ahmed-Ketso; an alumnus of the polytechnic.
