Bola Ray from a radio presenter to a media giant
Ghana born Nathan Kwabena Adisi, affectionately called Bola Ray who started off as a radio presenter with Joy FM, is the CEO of one of Ghana’s biggest entertainment outfit, Empire Entertainment and EIB Networks, owners of GHOne TV, Empire FM, Starr FM, Live FM, Hi FM, Cool FM, Agoo FM and a host of other radio stations within Ghana.
Bola Ray who has host several events and appeared in commercials for Telecoms Company, ventured into event organizing business using his Empire Entertainment. Today his firm organizes one of the biggest events, Ghana Meets Naija, each year. And have also managed and introduced top musicians such as Dobble and Ruff N Smooth among others into the music scene.
Having recorded success with the event arm of Empire Entertainment Bola Ray opened his own radio station in Takoradi called Empire FM, which was later acquired by Kwabena Duffour which acted as a catalyst for the EIB Networks journey.
Bola who has several awards to his credit, hopes to promote the growth of entertainment culture in Ghana, with a strong stance on education. He believes that many young people see the entertainment field as a way to avoid school; but he is quick to point to his own experience as an example of education helping you get somewhere in life.
The celebrated media giant recently presented a copy of his yet to be released biography to Ghana President Akufo-Addo, and the launch of the biography comes up in a few weeks’ time, as guest expected includes the President and other past Ghana presidents including John Kuffour.
‘It is Possible, the Bola Ray Story’, written by Ghanaian Journalist, Obed Boafo, is a 320-page account of Bola Ray’s media industry rise over the past decades. The book also details his business-building journey over the last few years.
Two years in the making, the author affords the reader candid insight into how the EIB Network CEO rose to become a towering figure in the media scene in and beyond Ghana.
He plans to follow the launch of his biography with ‘This is Possibility School Tour with Bola Ray’ event which will travel to all 10 regions of Ghana.
