We have a minute to reflect on the beauty looks that were sent down the runways of New York Fashion Week. And, when it comes to hair and makeup, things were all over the place, in the best way possible. We saw faces decorated with piercings, girls wearing absolutely no makeup, and plenty of second-day-like hair. Here are the trends that stood out for spring.

Minimal makeup and just-bitten lips be damned! When designers decided to go for it, they really went for it. Case in point: Cushnie et Ochs, who upped their eyeliner game this season.

FACE EMBELISHMENT

Out-there eyeliner wasn’t as wild as it got: The Rodarte sisters sent their models down the runway with multiple faux-piercings on each eyebrow.

KNOTTY TIMES

This season, designers traded in buns and braids in favour of the knot. Some were subtle and simple.

Yet again, the wet hair look turned up on the runways, though, this season, it wasn’t about slicking hair back. Instead, it was parted on the side, creating a sexy (and almost masculine!)
